On-site/in-house short courses
Courses can be selected from the following list, or tailored to your needs.

1. Auger Electron Spectroscopy

2. Auger Electron Spectroscopy and Data Processing
3. X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS/ESCA)

4. X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS/ESCA) and Data Processing

5. Data Processing in AES and XPS/ESCA
6. CasaXPS Training Course
Course Descriptions

On-site courses and training
A combination of on-site courses and training can be arranged. Courses can be tailored to your needs. For example, the first part of a course can be a general overview for lab managers and occasional (or prospective) users. This can then be followed by a more in-depth discussion for lab personnel and operators. Time can then be spent on equipment training.

Consulting
Consulting services are also available. This can include selection of equipment, software, and personnel.

Handbook of X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS)

By J. Moulder et al. (1992, 1995).

This is a reference book of standard spectra for identification and interpretation of XPS data. It is available for purchase.

Handbook of Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES)

By K.D. Childs et al. (1995).

This is a reference book of standard spectra for identification and interpretation of AES data. It is available for purchase.

CasaXPS Software

Purchase licenses for CasaXPS, a powerful data processing software package for XPS. It can also be used for AES and SIMS data processing. Upgrades are free! Please email me for a demo version or for ordering information.

Instructor

The courses are being taught by John T. Grant, who has over 40 years experience in surface analysis, and who has been teaching such courses for many years. He had been a Distinguished Research Scientist at the University of Dayton for over 30 years. He is co-editor of the book: Surface Analysis by Auger and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy.

Some comments from previous students:

“I learned more in 3 hours than I did all last year.”

“The material is extremely valuable, the instructor is without peer, and the course can be made better only by making it longer.”

“No better five-day course could be offered anywhere or anytime.”

“Dr. Grant stands alone in the world in his expertise and teaching ability, and reputation for this course.”

“The program I attended is excellent. I wanted to completely understand AES and XPS and use these techniques for my work.”

“The course paid for itself on the first day!”

“The cost to value ratio for this class is very attractive.”

“I can recommend to my management that they send any and every ESCA user to this class without reservation.”
“Instructor addressed topics at all understanding levels! I would strongly encourage attendance.”

“Dr. Grant is awesome! Wonderful lectures! He made the concepts very simple.”

“This is most likely the best class I have ever attended.”

In-house or onsite training courses on XPS/ESCA, AES, and CasaXPS, or training on Data Acquisition, Processing, and Interpretation can be scheduled at your facility at any time.
